DTO 50th Anniversary celebration. The Detroit Tamburitza Orchestra will celebrate their 50th Anniversary on the weekend of April 25 & 26, 2008. There are several events taking place to usher in this significant milestone. On the evening of Friday April 25, there will be a Welcome Dance at the American Croatian Hall located at 32851 Ryan Road in Warren, MI. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Admission is $10 per adult, $5 per child age 12 and under. Cover charge at the door includes entertainment by the fabulous “Yeseta Brothers” of Los Angeles , California starting at 7:30 PM. Light snacks will be available for purchase along with your favorite beverages from the well stocked bar. On April 26, 2008 DTO’s 50th Anniversary Concert will take place at Lamphere High School auditorium located at 610 West Thirteen Mile Rd in Madison Heights, MI . The concert begins promptly at 4:00 PM. Tickets are $10 per adult. Children age 18 and under are admitted free. In addition to DTO’s performance, we have four outstanding guest groups participating: "St. Anthony's Tamburica Orchestra" of Los Angeles , CA ; "Prijatelji Tamburitza Orchestra" of Chicago , IL ; "Cro-Arte Choir" of Toronto . Ontario ; and Croatian Folklore Ensemble "Nova Nada" of Detroit, MI . Immediately following the concert, everyone is invited to join us in the regal, "Grand Ballroom" of the Best Western Sterling Inn Conference Center, where a magnificent banquet/dance will be held with evening entertainment provided by the renown 'Otrov' Orchestra of Pittsburgh, Pa. The elegant, family-style banquet will begin at 7:00PM with tickets priced at $35 per person. Adult beverages may be purchased at the cash bar. The Best Western Sterling Inn is conveniently located at 34911 Van Dyke Avenue, in Sterling Heights, MI. For those of you planning to attend both the concert and reception banquet Saturday, discounted combination tickets may be purchased at the rate of $40 per adult and $35 per child age 18 and under. Lodging at the 50th Anniversary Hotel Headquarters, the Best Western Sterling Inn conference center is being offered at the discounted rate of $99 per night (excluding taxes).
